When a person gets the thing he dreams of, he seems dissatisfied with what he is getting right now, and wants to have something bigger. Sometimes we don't realize what our abilities are, and throw away what we have and expect what hasn't been discovered. It's not that you shouldn't aspire, but be grateful for what's there right now will be better. Don't force yourself to be a giant while you're just an ant. Let go of something small that has been gained to get something bigger that is not necessarily gained.
Sorry if his words aren't good... Greetings Mylot

Profoundly true and beautifully worded. A paragraph that speaks volumes of wisdom. People who understand these truths are much happier I believe.

This makes me think of wise advice found in the Bible at Galatians 6: 4
'But let each one examine his own actions, and then he will have cause for rejoicing in regard to himself alone, and not in comparison with the other person.'
It complements the other fine advice, found in Philippians 2: 3-4
'Do nothing out of contentiousness or out of egotism, but with humility consider others superior to you, as you look out not only for your own interests, but also for the interests of others.'
Imagine! If we all avoided comparing ourselves with others, and as you said, work on our own strengths and not compare ourselves either favourably or unfavourably with others. Rather, while appreciating our gifts, appreciate the gifts of our fellow - accepting graciously that no one can do everything well or have everything. It is neither possible, nor desirable.

Very well said. According to Dr Fred Alan Wolf the trick in life is not in the know but in the mystery.

So true. I believe that over-expectation is the root to frustration
