Fed Ex & UPS Delivers on Weekends

Remember the days when you had to pay extra to get a package on a weekend? Not any more.
Have been getting lots of deliveries on weekend lately, with free shipping. Talked to the Fed Ex driver today. He said they have changed their work schedules and they deliver seven days a week, no extra charge.
He works from Wednesday through Sunday. Sounds like a busy time. And he said soon it will get busier with the holidays coming up. And with more people at home these days, they are ordering online more often.
I also see the UPS and Amazon trucks on weekends as well. Busy, busy it seems.
Was glad to get stocked up on paper products once again. The shelves are getting empty at the stores, so I made another order. Just to be safe.

I need to start stocking up whenever I can.
Saw the postal man today and didn't even realize it was Sunday until later. He just stopped at one house, of course.
I'm glad these workers are still getting work.

That is interesting that delivery trucks do deliver packages on weekends.

@CarolDM That is wonderful since the UPS truck does deliver packages to my home on Sunday on occasion which is a nice deal.

During the pandemic, I discovered that many places deliver. It has been a godsend since we are both older--but it can't be fun for the drivers I think--I have gotten some Amazon deliveries as late as 8 pm on a Sunday evening--

@CarolDM I was just thinking about holiday shopping--it was different last year and I suspect it will be different this year as well

that was the one advantage the USPS had, they also deliver on weekends and did so first, but now, there isn't an advantage.

Oh wow never experienced paying extra for a weekend delivery. Here they’d always deliver on any day with the same fee. The only delivery fee that changes is the food delivery when it’s in the evening.

I cannot recall when they did not ..seems so long ago Carol.
Yes, it is about time they do though as many need these deliveries on the weekends.
Glad you are getting yours.
Yes always good to have stuff onhand for sure.
Here there seems to be no shortage so far anyway.

I figure I have wash rags if people get stupid again about the paper products.

Yes, how about that! I recently received a Fed Ex delivery on a Sunday. I've been getting extra paper towels too. I'm good on toilet paper. I stocked up plenty last time

I've noticed that, too. We see the trucks all the time.
