Postcard from New Zealand

I recently watched a video about Ned Kelly, and realized I had received a postcard with his name on it a few years ago (which is the image of this post).
Apparently, he tried to create a bullet proof vest from a wood stove, but this didn't cover his arms and legs. He was shot, and though he recovered, he soon died from a public hanging.
They have his suit of armor in a museum and apparently his skull (and death mask) also. Why this is so, I'm not sure?
The postcard came from Tauranga, New Zealand--it traveled 7,000 miles and arrived in 9 days.
Have you ever visited Tauranga or anywhere in New Zealand?
