A rainy cozy day

It started raining here in eastern NC this morning, and though we need it, I hope we don't get any bad storms.
It's a nice kind of day for a stay-inside fish fry.
Just finished a breakfast of sausage, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, toast, coffee, and orange juice while watching the news on TV. Yes, @NJChicaa, it was FOX news.
But all the news is so depressing and distressing, I'd rather watch some deep sea fishing show. And I really, really don't like those.
Anyway, I'll do a little housework, get stuff ready for cooking fish, then just chill.

We are basically staying at home today, we drove to the city yesterday. It's raining here lightly, but I don't mind a bit. I love staying indoors, where it's warm and dry:)

I miss good 'ole church fish fries! During Lent, the church fish fries have become so expensive that you cannot afford a decent dinner. People resort to the local bars for a fish sandwich or fish dinner. However, I do not mind the local bars' food as they really are good.

It's turned into a very nasty day here so I'm just puttering around getting a few things done around the house. Making meatballs for dinner and later this afternoon I want to whip up a batch of muffins.
Depressing and distressing is a good way to describe the news these days.

I'm going to run some errands in a little while, go to the bank and the grocery store. Probably take a nap later on as neither Mike or I slept well last night. Nothing was wrong health or mentally, just one of those nights it was hard for us to go to sleep and stay asleep.
We had your rain yesterday. Today is beautiful. Much much cooler. I love it.

Nothing special went on. Today we may return the rental car, pick up the mail and fax some paperwork from the library.
