I'm referring this to the organisers of Holy fields fight versus Belfort. He was knockout in first round and the referee did not stop his opponent who made Holy field landed badly. They forgot he's 58 years old and only a matter of one week info replacement to Oscar De la Hoya. The organizers better hang their heads.
Holyfield was in a pitiful situation. They better postpone the fight or find a younger one. It's so unfair. Holyfield's side will file a case.
Are you a fan of boxing? Don't you find it odd a 58 year old replaces Oscar De La Hoya? The answer is yours.

Wow I was not aware of this. It seems unfair but then again boxing is a brutal sport.

@RebeccasFarm, but they should have not let Holyfield fight Belfort. Holyfield is 58 years old.

I agree with you that what they did was very dangerous as far as safety is concerned but just to be fair and to see both sides, first I think in any fight there's a contract that he agreed on, secondly I hope they had qualified doctors to check whether or not he was fit. Thirdly he got something like $ 500.000 plus sponsors cut and pay per view cut , all in all it's a huge sum ofmoney for a fighter who is already retired and there are rumors that Holyfield has financial problems.
Another thing is there's a saying that " once a fighter always a fighter" the same reason why Mike Tyson, Mayweather, Oscar De la Hoya still fought or wants to fight, even our own Pacman fought someone bigger and younger despite his advanced age and he already has a lot of money. Just my personal view friend

@cacay1 i think Holyfield is still strong at 58 and could still fight even 3 men at the same time, it just so happened that Belfort is much younger, stronger and also a professional boxer so the end result is what we just saw, a lousy fight.
if I'm Holyfield I would just fall down without getting hit and collect the money
but the heart of a champion fighter is still inside him.

@louievill
your suggestion is very nice. It should be better for him to fall through his own, perfect

@louievill, very well said. I agree with these aged boxers are attracted of the huge sum of money regardless of age difference. You're right, there must be a doctor to check his condition first 58 is too old for a boxer to fight I thought he already retired.
