What Can't You Tolerate in a Friendship?

Friends are family too though you do not have the same bloodline. Sometimes other people consider their friends more than their own family. Of course, they have their reasons and who are we to judge anyway. I have many friends, but I only keep those who have been with me through thick and thin. I don’t mind having a few but genuine friends. What I cannot tolerate in a friendship is the betrayal of trust and being abusive of the favors being asked of me. I can tell whether a person is just capitalizing on the friendship for every gain in his favor. What about you? (picture from internet)

Same and I cannot tolerate if a friend goes around telling the others what you said to the friend confidentially.

@cherigucchi This is something I cannot stand. Friends should be there to listen and help, not to spread your secrets and problems.

I am like you. I only stick to my friends who are loyal and honest to me. It is better to have a few but trustworthy friends than having a lot of fake friends who only contact us in their times of need.

@cherigucchi Not all feel family are friends because not all families care for their members. Friends can make better friends than family at times. You are right you do not need a lot of friends in this world. If a few are good ones then that is great. One needs to weed out the bad ones that are not there for you.

I have many friends but few who can understand me. In the end I realized that, my best friend is myself.

Yes, I believe you're absolutely right! A few friends, but real ones, it's better than many who try to gain advantage of you. I've had some false friends in the past and with time I've distanced myself from them and I have no regrets

What I cannot tolerate in a friendship is pure gossip. You know when you have a large group of friends, and they want to gossip about the friend that is not there. I totally dislike that very much. Because if they can gossip about the friend that's not there, that, means when you are not there, they gossip about you too.

That is also another thing I hated the most especially when that friend talk about you behind your back.
