I have a solar powered battery for my phone. My father gave it to me as a gift. I know it will come in handy. I wrote an article about solar panels a couple of years ago:
I have really been thinking about trying to save on electricity ever since covid happened. Also, we had some very bad flooding this year. It didn't effect us like it did in 2014. In 2014 our basement flooded. It was a mess. I was so happy it didn't happened this year but it other parts of the city it flooded pretty bad.
IBO member Maketta Abdullah published a press release titled: Solar Energy The Answer To High Electricity Bills

I have been thinking about going solar for our home to nearly eleminate the eletric bill. But, I don't know how to make my husband understand it. A "professional" could tell him the same thing, and while he'd believe them he STILL wouldn't get it.

I would just explain to him all the benefits of going solar. The main reason being to save on your electricity bills. I would ask him what would be the reason that was holding him back from switching to solar. Obviously, he must still have some doubts.

@MoonMaa His biggest concern, power outtages and cloudy days. I would have to do more research to find out if solar is even possible where we live. But, he has some ligit concerns. I don't blame him for having doubts.
Another thing to consider, cost. We live in a very urban neighborhood. It's rare to go solar in cities like ours.

@kaylachan A couple of years ago they put in solar street lights in our community. It's one just up a couple of doors from me. So, I do know that solar does work at night. My neighbor also has solar lights in his yard. They light up every night. I can understand your concern about the costs. The way I use it is to open my curtains and let the sun in to warm the place.
It is very cheap.
