BBQ for dinner

We bought an electric griller but my husband insisted doing bbq the traditional way using this old metal charcoal griller. He said the taste is ‘different’. I don’t know. He is the food connoisseur in the family so end of discussion. The after care is quite tasky but I’m the resident cleaner so end of discussion. Kids love it though complimenting on the bbq sauce I helped concoct so my heart is swelling with pride. Lolll How do you do bbq?

@sol_cee Maybe , you don't like spicy at all I guess. When I was in Dubai, we use to have spicy broast from KFC in our office. Colleagues from Philippines never use to touch it.

I think I believe that theory - old fashioned grill better. Must be the taste of charcoal.

@sol_cee Charcoal grilled is a toothsome. The new way of grilling is a tad bit insipid.

A bit of smoke does make the grilling taste better. But your sauce did the trick I bet (lol)

I don't have the traditional Grilled anymore, it's too complicated to prepare it with a fan and charcoal.

Usually in the oven. I love food on the grill, and we have a charcel grill that's still in a box. Maybe we'll get around to putting it together.

@sol_cee It's still in the box. It's just my husband getting distracted with all the other projects he has wanted to do, and enjoying nature.

We don't barbecue in this way now but we used to and I do think the meat tasted different - and better. I'm glad your sauce was popular.

Barbecuing with charcoal does taste better but I'm the one who cleaned the grill when we were done so I gave the charcoal grill away. It doesn't taste THAT much better. I'd rather just put the meat into a pan, pour barbecue sauce over it and bake it. It still tastes good and much less cleanup.

I do not have a BBQ now but in Latvia, we used a big metal tub on legs and filled it with coal and wood and when it was hot and ready we placed a metal grill on top and the food to grill,

I agree with your husband. Using the old way a.k.a. CHARCOAL is the best way. I would also ditch the electric one.
