I have already asked what subject you hated. You had to have seen this one coming lol. Now I want to know which class was your favorite. Mine in high school had to be English and later in university... Philosophy.
As for English, it all came down to the teachers that I had. I couldn't have asked for any better. They did everything they could possibly think of to make them interesting. That alone makes for great teachers.
And then first year university, I was introduced to Philosophy. I fell in love with it, even after getting back my first assignment with a failing grade. I have to admit that I felt sick... first assignment and I was already failing. And then I learned that everyone in the class got the same failing grade. Not sure what she was trying to do, but it made me work even harder. I still remember the assignment titled, "Does Free Will Exist?" lol... I definitely had fun with that one!
Now I have two favorites ;)

I can't say that I had a favorite subject in high school. In junior high it was English. I had Honors English in high school; and I hated it. We had to read books that were full of "symbolism" and were very dry and boring.

My favorite subjects in high school were French, Band, Creative Writing and English. My favorite subjects in college were Creative Writing, and all my law classes especially research and writing.

Elementary was always about English for me. Then high school, algebra. In university, Rizal. Rizal is our hero and our constitution mandates that no university student shall graduate without having taken the subject the Works and Life of Jose Rizal.
