Writing poems was a hobby I acquired in my school days. First, I used to write in Hindi. ( national language of India) then I transitioned into writing in English. I created a site in blogger hoping to make money out of it. I must accept I have not made any money even after a hundred poems in the site. I also published a book of my poems. Nobody bought my book except an European friend. That was about five years ago.
Someone asks in my heart, why don't you write poetry anymore? I reply saying, it's waste of time. Nowadays, no one reads poems and no one is ready to pay for reading poems!
But that voice is not silenced. It comes back to repeat the question.
Friends, what do you say, should I resume writing poems.

I think I am not sure how popular poetry is anymore but I like it.

You should keep writing poems. If it brings you joy then why not just write. It's art after all.

Obviously you can earn from writing poems but I don't think you can make more from a Poetry blog but you can publish a book and try to sell it out in book fairs.

Maybe you can write your poems on read cash. It's a website that can earn tips from people that like what you write. Or you can start youtube, find a background music that match with your poems as you narrating.
