In any of the four Gospels, Jesus does not mention even once that he wanted to start a new religion.
The new religion was formed by people in power , three centuries or so after the death of Jesus.
I think Jesus only preached a spiritual philosophy in which love, affection, empathy and compassion are the important points.

If we have a fixed mind we might fall into such misconceptions. The new religion had started soon after the ascension of Jesus. Those who believed in Jesus used to gather together, worship together, took part in " memorial" meal together. During the time of the apostles themselves Christians were known as people who followed a "way."

True, The apostles followed a way, but no religion as such.
The religion was formed after Rome fell in Christian hands, I think

Jesus taught that Christianity which is faith in him isn't a religion. It's a relationship. God came to earth in the human/divine body of his son Jesus to show how much he loves us.
