This is an annual phenomenon in and around the metropolis. The cases of robberies, thefts and snatching begin to rise. This is what I say a pre-puja spurt. The Hindu festival holidays are going to begin soon. In Bengal, Durga worship, Laxmi worship, Kali worship, Deepawali, Jagadhatri worship, Chhat Puja will come one after the other in the months of October and November.
For some reasons news of robberies will be common this time of the year. One reason, I guess all people, good and not so good, need to have fun during the days of festivities and they need money to spend on pleasure.
Two jwellery shops in our local bazar were broken into by robbers during the last rainy nights. This evening when I went to the market for an errand I saw the two jwellery shops. They were swept clean of the gold and silver!

Here in Maine, United States, the crime rates are low, especially in the rural parts.
I live in rural Maine.
I like it here for many reasons. One of the reasons is because the crime rate is low around here.

Rural areas are peaceful life. It's in the cities such robberies take place.
