I am a fourth year chemical engineering student. when i was in the 2nd yr i was way too confused. i do not think you have even been introduced to most of the core chem eng subjects like heat transfer, momentum transfer, chemical reaction engg, process control etc. you gotta get a feel for the subjects before u decide whether u are interested in R&D ( MS+ Phd)or working in the industry ( MBA or job). i was in a dilema whether to go for MS or MBA till quite late( not advisable). to keep yourself safe i suggest u give GRE in your third year and then concentrate on CAT in the fourth year. This way you can keep your options open till the end. This is something i dint do but so wish i had. now am applying for MS. anything else u wanna kno , feel free to ask.

hey there,
I myself am chemical engineering student and I am applying to US universities. The basic requirements for this are GRE and TOEFL. You need to get good scores in both of these to get good universities and scholarships. You can follow USnews rankings for chemical engineering to get general idea about standards of the universities. As a thumb rule, people apply to universities where there's at least one senior from the same college of theirs.
All the best and feel free to contact me if necessary.
