Natural disasters are happening all over the world and happening at a greater rate and at a more extreme level.
Everything from Earthquakes to Volcano eruptions to extreme flooding and then some.
So there lays the question are you and your family prepared?
Every family should have enough food in storage for 3 months for each member of your household.
If a freak snowstorm were to hit your home and the power went out without it coming back on anytime soon.
Do you have enough supplies to survive for 3 months?
In some rural places that's how long you could be alone before you can get help.
Below is a list of the basics that every survival kit should have.
1. canned food (3 months supply per person)
2 bottled water 1 gallon a day person for 3 months
3 a first aid kit to deal with medical problems
4 a can opener to open those cans of food.
5 spare clothes at least 3 sets per person
6 a transistor radio (wind up version is best)
6 portable lighting (wind-up version is best and safest.
7. cash, cards won't work if the power is out, but cash will become king again in the event of a natural disaster. ($50- $100 per person should be your goal.
8, a safe place to meet up if you live in a city and are separated .
9, a means to cook food,ie a BBQ or pilot light stove
10. Food for your pets (if you have them)
11 Important copies of documents ie passports, drivers licences, certificates etc,
So looking at the above list how prepared are you ?

being prepared means you arent reliant on the government to rescue you when things go wrong.
An extra can of food everytime you go shopping will add up

I do prepare but I am not sure if I am really that prepared when things like that happen.
