Packing and unpacking.... Living in the suitcase.

That's the picture of the suitcase that I packed and unpacked on this weekend. I didn't go for any vacation. I have not stepped out of the city since the pandemic. Curse the virus.
While deleting the photos from my phone I came across this one. So, I thought of making a post about it before deleting it. My daughter clicked it as she found it funny that I was carrying a suitcase to work. She thought that I looked like those aur hostesses going to work
I had to go to physical school on Saturday to setup a few things. And I had a lot to carry to work... files, folders, activities, materials etc. And on the way back, I had to carry some books from library and also some course material from my yonger daughter's school. So, instead of carrying few bags, I carried this suitcase to be kind to my back. And it was a wise decision. Many of my colleagues were impressed
Back to home, I unpacked the things in the evening and did the packing for my husband. He left for Mumbai on Sunday morning to see his brother in law. I had mentioned about the bypass surgery of his brother in law. He developed some complications ( on expected lines and nothing serious) post surgery and his stay in hospital was extended. My husband just called to say that he is all okay now and they are going through the discharge procedure at the hospital
Now, my husband has booked a ticket to go and meet his mother tomorrow and he should be back here on Friday night.
I always said that my husband lived in the suitcase. That was the case before the pandemic when his business trips made him go round the country and the world. On an average, he traveled for at least 7 days in a month. And I always was getting his suitcase ready.
Now, it has been more than an year that he has gone for any official business trip. And maybe for the first time in last two years since 1996, he has not stepped out of India in a year time. That's a new record.
I never liked packing for his tour as I thought that his busy schedule makes him miss a lot with me and the girls. But I was always overjoyed by the packing that we did for our vacations. I miss those days. I hope that the virus scare is soon gone and I get to pack my suitcase again for some fun
Moving on to my notifications. Catch you later
Enjoy your time in your mylot corner

I agree. This one saved me from a backache. Carrying so many things in a backpack would have been a torture for my back and spine.

Yes, you could say that Something like air hostess would do. Travel to work with a suitcase and come back. I was dressed up in saree and my daughter said that I look like air hostess from Air India. Actually I have my blouses mostly with that kind of neck design

It depends on the occasion. I am super excited to pack for a vacation. But then coming back, unpacking and cleaning up... something I don't look forward to

That was a very smart idea to use your suitcase back and forth to work. High Five to the person who decided to put wheels on suitcases!!! Genius!!
Your suitcase certainly has been to many places as your husband traveled. Glad to hear that his brother in law is doing okay after his surgery.
I also miss packing a suitcase to go on vacation.

I would call that genius. A heartfelt thanks to the person. It's so good for our backs.
Our suitcases have traveled a lot as we have been to so many trips and vacations. Waiting for some miracle to happen and the fear of the virus to go away.

Thanks to those wheels that take all our burden off. I have not been to any vacation since the pandemic. It's the longest ever for me. I love traveling.

It was indeed. It would have not fit in a backpack and a heavy backpack is not good for back pain. This was comfortable and convenient.
It's true. We have been married for 21 years now. Never I got to stay so much with him. Even my daughters enjoyed it. We could meet together for all three hot meals

Thanks to the person who came up with the idea of those wheels. I would agree that this have been a positive side effects of this lockdown and house arrest. We get more family time.

It was a smart decision. Carrying so many bags would be cumbersome and also a torture for our back. This was neat and convenient

We can't plan for any outdoor activities. My both daughters have their pre board from 18. One is in 10 and other in 12. They don't have holidays except on navmi and Dussehra day. That would be more like a study leave.
I will spend the time doing some art and cleaning around house. Anyway Diwali is here. And during Navratri we have elaborate two times pooja in home. That also takes time with all preparation and cooking bhog

I just hope that things get back to normal soon. I am a travel freak and I am missing my vacations badly. I am fully vaccinated now and feel safe. Not for vacation, but I might travel to go and see my mom and attend a family wedding this month. Yet to make up my mind.

I would agree. We used to go for frequent vacations before the pandemic. And my husband travelled frequently for business trips.
