Discussing cricket with my drug dealer. I actually learned a few things.

Raj was watching a cricket match from Dubai when I went to get my fix for today. He has already taught me a lot about cricket. A "home run" is six runs. A hit to the wall is four runs. And so on. Today I asked about the social aspect of cricket matches. In the US, people get drunk and stupid at baseball and football games. Do they do so at cricket matches? He told me that in places like India (and Dubai), alcohol is not sold at cricket matches. But in the UK, it is. He also told me that there are many booths at cricket matches where you can buy food, soda, tea, etc. The prices are not a "rip off" as they are here in the US. I'm going to try to keep learning more about cricket. Do you have "odd" areas in which you continue to acquire new knowledge? Photo is of my glove and a baseball I caught during batting practice at an American baseball game.

Yes, I'd like to know which side you part your hair on.

I used to part it on the right. But right now it's too short for a part.

@BarBaraPrz Right now it's just itchy I need a shower. I had one earlier in October, but I can't remember when.

I guess you are talking about major international matches. Most cricket matches are just played on village greens and followed by tea and cake and sandwiches.

@Fleura You are talking about the days of Raj or the colonial times when Cantonment folks or officers used to play and had "High Tea" in the end? Have you seen Lagaan?

@Fleura Lagaan was a cricket based Bollywood movie starring the Indian superstar Aamir Khan and made in 2001. It is available on YouTube and Netflix.

Cricket is like a religion in India. Traditionally, a cricket match runs 5 days long. But last few decades, there are more single day matches, with 50 or even 20 overs growing hugely popular.

I am ticked off that they are trying to "shorten" baseball games in the US.

Great that you gained more knowledge of cricket. As Prez of India, that is really helpful !! If more interested, you can watch Lagaan movie on Netflix :
In 1890s India, an arrogant British commander challenges the harshly taxed residents of Champaner to a high-stakes cricket match.

Liquor is not publically sold in India. So you won't be able to get it and drink it while watching a cricket match. What else do you know about the game? Do you know how many players are there in a team?

I do not know how many players are on the filed at any given time. Please tell me. I am also still learning when a batter is out and when he is not.

I know nothing about cricket, baseball, football or any other team sports. I continue to acquire my knowledge in gardening. I am still a newbie, a "city girl".

I've heard about cricket but I don't have any idea how you play the sport.
