Do I still look like a priest?

Hi friends! I'm back but still I'll be here seldom. We arrived in the country last August 15 in Cebu and had to quarantine there for 10 days. When we arrived in our home city, it also seemed we were on quarantine because we had a lot of cleaning to do inside and outside the house so we stayed at a hotel for 5 days.
Until now, there are still many things to do especially meetings (both face to face and via zoom) now that the hotel we're building is almost done and we'll be having a contract signing tomorrow for an annex building for 21 more family and executive rooms. The new project will run for another 720 days.
I was out of the house early to go to the Register of Deeds, Land Transportation Office, the seminary, the electrical store to buy a lithium battery for my solar-powered guard light and to the mall to buy bottled water and sliced bread.
On my way out of the office in the seminary, there was a man and two women at the receiving area and, as I passed by, they greeted me with "Good morning Father". Of course I had to reply with a "Good morning" too. Farther out, two women bringing vegetables also approached me and said "Please help us Father by buying our vegetables".
This reminded me of the times I was mistaken for a priest, a monsignor, a pastor, a doctor and a mayor hahaha!
This is all for now friends. Glad to be back here and in the country.

I've been wondering how you and your wife were doing. I'm glad you've made it back and seem to be doing well.
Uhm... we can't see you but... maybe I better stop there...

@sunrisefan I knew you were there a long time. But, you got to enjoy your daughter and her family while you were there, right?

We were stuck in New Zealand for a year and 5 months because of the pandemic. We were supposed to be there for only 3 months.

@DaddyEvil Yes, right but we enjoyed more our grandson. Now that we're back home, he always tells his auntie to call me everyday, sometimes morning and afternoon. He enjoys going out and running out in the park. It's a big problem when it's time to go home because he would not want to go.

@sunrisefan I do not know, but when 3 years ago, every other day, I went to Milan to visit my mother in the hospital, many elders asked me questions thinking that I was a doctor.

Yes I did that post way back, Ms. Anna. I also wonder why people have those varying perceptions of my personality.

Yes, some employees mistook me for an engineer too hahaha! One even thought I was the architect of our ongoing hotel project hehehe! I think you don't need to see me; you can just imagine the standard look of a priest hahaha! Glad to hear from you again Ms. Arbie :)

What do you feel when they called you that? They didn't bother asking you if your a priest or not? darn. Mayor? maybe you should run for officer.

I did not feel anything because I've been used to being mistaken for a priest before while I was still working. Our office then was beside the pastoral center of the diocese and I went there quite often so some people mistook me for a priest more especially with my attire (dark pants with polo barong). I have no time for politics hehehe! I'm busy enough with our ongoing projects.

If you are near the seminary you are very likely to be addressed "Father",. If you physical appearance is that of a Monsignor you may be called with this title of honour.. I am often called a Father because the work I do is usually done by a priest or a religious.

I guess you're a lay minister assisting the priest in some functions? The parish priest of the parish where we attend mass in Auckland is from India and most of the parishioners are Indians.

Could it be your clothes? You might look like someone who is a priest.

While I was still working, it could be the polo barong I wear in office because many priests wear that too.

@sunrisefan
That must be the reason, people believe you're a priest.

I'm sure you'll have much cleaning to do just like us when we arrived home. Take it slowly though and don't stress yourself.

@sunrisefan Vince was thought to be a vicar once. It's funny how people get these ideas. We needed to go to an Easter mass and took the little truck as we were at a horse event. The idea took off from there.

I don't if I'm distinguished-looking :) Just amused at times being mistaken for those personalities. Hope you're now well-settled in your new home and location.
