He was embarrassed!

Over dinner my son usually talks about school, his online games, current events, politics, etc. Tonight’s topic focused on school.
His biology class started with the teacher announcing the top scorer and his classmate requested their teacher to repeat the announcement so she could record it to show her mom so she could get her reward.
During class though it was only Craig who was answering the teacher’s questions which made her wonder why was that so. She checked her record and said, “No wonder Craig’s the only one answering. He’s a top scorer too!” And then she told everyone to give Craig a hand. Which made my son blushed. He’s not used to being acknowledged like that. And no he didn’t ask his teacher to repeat that so he could take a video too!
Just two nights ago he was complaining to me how difficult biology was!

@RebeccasFarm Yes and in this country it is considered a luxury car so we have to pay higher annual registration fee for it.

That's what I love most about my boy. His modesty in everything. His friends would brag about their cars and everything. But my boy never told them he got a Toyota Camry.

Yes. My son enjoys learning since he was 2 years old. Yes he started school at 2. And we didn't force him to go to school. It was him who decided that and didn't even want to go home even when he was sick.

Craig's favorite subject is Math but he excels in almost all subjects. In fact in his previous school he was offered two extra classes for free: advance math and advance biology.

I don’t think shy is the right word at all. He’s just not one who brags.

Reminds me of my classmate many years ago in college. Her older sister would sometimes tell her a particular subject is hard but when the grades come out, she got top marks again.
Do you ever reward him for high grades, honors, achievements, etc.?

And that's why I'm proud of him. Not only because he's a smart one but he's modest about it.

I feel for him--I'm not comfortable with being acknowledged/have people draw attention to me, either.

Congratulations.
Some people want public recognition, others really don't.

Thank you. He would hate me if he finds out I wrote about him here.
