Should TikTok start censoring their content?

This is just a matter of personal opinion. My sons started watching videos in Tiktok. Perhaps, due to the pandemic that the people have nothing else to do and they spent time creating short "funny" videos. But the way I see it, a lot of those videos are useless garbage. I'm not sure how is it in other countries but a lot of videos from the Philippines are not appropriate to some age groups. especially minors. Some are toilet jokes. Some are simply not good influences to young viewers. I haven't explored Tiktok that much, but I think I should look for some filtering features like in YouTube. On our end, we tell our kids to skip certain videos if we deemed them not appropriate. But on the provider's end, I think they should start censoring some of the content. What do you think?

This one is a garbage but you know that some people make a living from garbages.

The more you create garbage, the more you make money in our days.

@myklj999 I get a page that asks me to log-in, but I do not have (and I do not intend to open) a TikTok account.

I agree with JJ, kids should not have a phone and watch garbage videos during all the day long.

@AkoPinay I have heard doctors asking parents to be more responsible and not to let their kids stay in front of a screen all day long.

Uninstall that app from your son's device... Replace it with YouTube kids... I am not into Tiktok but I have seen several videos from there that are shared on FB that are not fit for kids...

His phone is under repair. He's using mine for now. For now, I am telling him what he can watch and what he cant and he is learning. Unfortunately, sometimes he would borrow the phone from his aunts or cousins His phone is set to "Child's Phone" so everything is filtered

i think you will find that censorship is at best a slippery slope. what offends one, may not offend another.
