I was craving for some Indian last night...

So, that's what we ordered from a nearby Indian restaurant. Hubby went to pick it up rather than have it delivered because they charge for delivery and it is based on miles. We ordered nan, Palak Shorba soup, Paneer Tikka, Shashi Korba goat, and salted lassi. Nan is white flower bread baked in tandoor (clay oven). Palak Shorba soup is a soup made with spinach, chicken broth, and mild spices. Paneer Tikka is a dish of thick slices of homemade Indian cottage cheese that are marinated in yogurt and spices and grilled in tandoor. Shashi Korba goat is a dish of goat cooked in almond, cashew, and creamy sauce. Both dishes came with Basmati rice. Lassi is a yogurt drink with rose water. Everything was delicious and nothing was very spicy (aside from the side sauces for the nan) so I was able to enjoy the meal. There are even leftovers for me to enjoy tonight for dinner. Since hubby is in a Russian bathhouse today he will eat there.

@lovebuglena I dont like saunas but I love the steam rooms..there is a great one here, but since covid started she had to shut down for a long time, then she started charging bucoo bucks to sit in the steam room. As much as I like the steam room, I do not believe it would be a good idea right now, nor would I pray insane price.

I do not go there. Not for me. I can't take being inside a sauna.

@RebeccasFarm What is the difference between a sauna and a steam room?

I had naan and paneer butter masala several days before. You triggered my taste buds. Will order tomorrow.

I didn't have Indian food for a while. It was really nice to eat it yesterday. Can't wait to eat the leftovers. No more goat left but lots of sauce from the goat is still here. Gonna mix it into the Basmati rice and eat that, along with the cottage cheese dish.

@LindaOHio I like Thai food, so long as it is not very spicy.

The food was really good. Wasn't very spicy, which is the way I like it. Can't eat very spicy food.

Shorba cannot be exactly claimed to be Indian, maybe Pakistani or Iranian (Persian). Other than that, all of them are authentic north Indian dishes, now popular almost all over the subcontinent.

Well, it was on the menu. Maybe not all their dishes are 100% Indian.
