It frustrating

Hello from Indonesia
Today is the first day of mid term test in my school
So....when i give my midterm test to my students i really get frustrated with the results
They even didn't understand what they should do
I already told then last week that we will have mid term test this week, i already almost give away the questions to them last week,i already numerous times told them they can ask me in WhatsApp about midterm test, i already allowed them to do an open book test
And i make the question in bahasa Indonesia language for god sake
And only one or two students that done the test correctly.

And you know what that makes me really speechless when i give them the test? I give them very simple question for midtest, i just ask them to write 4 sentences for each material such as greeting,apologizing or simple present tense, just 4 sentences ( I wrote the question in Bahasa Indonesia to ease them as we only get 30 minutes at most to do the test ) and one of the first question they ask me is " kalimat tu yang macam mana pak?" Or in English language it roughly means"what is sentence ?
