Hi, yesterday for the first time I had something from Starbucks. It has recently opened in our city. I ordered four Chicken Mayo Cheese Sandwiches and two Iced Coffees. Total costs :- 17.33 USD. So I would like to ask my fellow mylotters here, those of you have had ordered from Starbucks, how's the price of similar items there.

I do not go to Starbucks Jojo. I have only been there once or twice in all the years. That price sounds about the same as it would be here too. I hope you enjoyed it.

@Sojourn yes, it's triple high for something like a peanut butter sandwich

Yes, but they tasted like the sandwiches that I can buy for $1.5 anyways .

No Starbucks for me. A single coffee near 400 is not worth. Firstly it strains my PPP. Secondly, I can perhaps get an equivalently taste and much less costlier one from Costa Coffee or Cafe Coffee Day (CCD). Having said that I hope you enjoyed having the feast. Also I guess (not sure if wrong or right) but in terms of parity, Starbucks stuff is costlier in India than in say US or European countries. An expert can confirm perhaps.

@Sojourn Yes - Purchasing Power Parity. I think Starbucks has deliberately positioned itself as more of a luxury brand in India than something of a competition to others like CCD, Costa Coffee or even Barista.

Do you mean Purchasing Power Parity as PPP? Yes, I wouldn't buy from there again too if they don't bring the costs down or don't offer any special discounts.

I wouldn’t know if they is similar or not since when don’t get all from Starbucks. I get a drink for myself hardly get any food but I know when I myself a coffee it’s around $6. Every Starbucks pricing will be a little different from the next based off of location and what they sell.

@Sojourn yes location changes the prices a lot. Like Starbucks inside of stores tend to be a bit higher in prices. I try to do stand alone because they tend to be on the lower price side

OK, another person also said the same price for coffee. Food items may be differently priced I guess based on location, availability etc.

That's cheap! One iced-coffee here is $3 USD. One Chicken sandwich at Starbucks is $6 USD.

No problem. I know Americans are expert at brewing coffee on their own anyways.

I only go once a year and the price varies, depending on what cookies I can get my hands on.

Yes, that's a good price, but a high price! Starbucks has a high price here. My favorite is the frappe

It was like an one-off purchase. I don't plan to order from there anytime soon.
