Recalling why I become a teacher

Sometimes it pays to remember things of the past. Just like this one why I prefer to become a classroom teacher. When I was a kid I like to play a teacher. I gathered my fellow kids in the neighborhood and acted as a teacher for them. I put up an improvised blackboard. I gave them several pieces of paper and pencils to use after the class to evaluate them. I was also too strict with them as what I had observed from my teachers at school. When I completed my high school studies, I right away enrolled to education course, particularly the elementary education. I had completed my enrollment and attended the first week of classes. When my elder brother learned it, he told me to shift to commerce course for there were a lot of books and references available in our close relatives house. I had no choice. I obeyed him. After I graduated,, I got a job in our local bank. I worked for 5 years and I never gave up of taking my first preferred vocation of being a teacher. When I was off from my bank job, I studied in the college until I finished it by studying part time. I took the teacher's board and passed. I resigned from the bank, applied in the Division Office and I was hired. What a happy moment recollecting all those things. I have never failed myself of my favorite vocation to be a teacher to the kids. God is kind. He guides me in my journey in life especially answering my prayers.

I have worked as a teacher's aide, in different classroom environments. My favorite was the mentally challenged students, they were more appreciative of my efforts. I've worked with children all my life, mainly as a licensed daycare home.

When I was a child I wanted to be a nurse. I used to take my toy stethoscope and listen to the hearts of my friends and relatives. Although I look back and often wish I had become a paramedic I never did. I was a secretary when I left school and later became a chef.

I love education so I took up education. I didn't realize that it's hard to control children and is a very challenging job to teach. I resigned and look for another job

And my dream was to work in the bank because I liked to see ladies wearing high heels and blazers and I loved numbers. I enrolled in B.S. Accountancy but shifted to Airline Secretarial and became a secretary in an aviation company. Didn't work in the bank but a secretary wears high heels and blazers too at least.
