I Can Breathe Again

First, I should say, I put this situation in God's hands.
I got a letter in the mail yesterday from Housing. It was totally confusing as it said my apartment was approved on September 7. Good. Then it said I would get another letter in the mail showing what my portion of the rent would be. Until then, I was to pay the full amount for the rent.
As I said, I put my finances in God's hands. Still, I was awake at 1 AM crunching numbers I didn't have.
My housing representative told me in an e-mail what my rent would be for October. I paid that in September when I received the information, and then paid the November rent when I got paid this month. I like to be a month ahead because of when I get paid. I've been waiting since August for the letter I received today, dated October 6, and received it yesterday. It's an indication of how slow the mail is.
Anyway, after crunching numbers with what was already paid, the deposit from my last residence I should receive today or tomorrow unless the mail is ultra-slow again, I figured out how to come up with the rent and late fee.
The office opens at 9. I was at my son's doing laundry. As soon as I got home, I went straight to the office with the letter I received. What happened next I give all the credit to God.
She was waiting for me. She left a message on my phone. I didn't know that. My phone was charging while I was at my son's. It was dead this morning because I forgot to put it on the charger overnight.
Long story short, I don't owe anything. Housing told them they needed to re-do the lease to make it a one-year lease from 1 October to 30 October next year. I signed the new lease and they would fax it over to Housing so they could get the October payment to them.
God is good and faithful. I threw out the envelope I was crunching numbers on and am here with you now letting you know God's faithfulness.

That's great that it all worked out, Valerie. Good is good.
So you were in a month to month lease then it sounds like and they were raising the rent certain months?

No, it was a year lease, but I moved in on September 8 and the original lease reflected the half month. Housing wanted a full month, not half a month, so it needed to be redone. I should be getting the letter in the mail soon. The Post Office is very slow.

@MarshaMusselman I'm glad it did too. I'm still waiting on the mail from Housing and my deposit. I'm hoping to see both today.

That was wonderful news, Valerie! I won't go into details, but I got a call this morning that a test I had was normal. I've been praising God ever since!
