The vaccination for ages 12 to 17 years old has now started. Last week, the government started a pilot testing for several hospital. My kids are already registered. The other night, they send information as to the needed requirements for the vaccination. Last night, they already send a list of the registered names for vaccination tomorrow. Wow, that is two days preparation for the documents. Valid ID is okay. But the medical clearance and birth certificate (coming from the PSA office) and both of those documents should be not more than 6 months old. I did not know that a birth certificate has expiration. Even in applying a passport here, they require that the birth certificate coming from the said government agency should not be more than 6 months.
Now I need to rush getting medical clearance for my kids since they only give two days notice for those who will be vaccinated. Good thing my kids are not yet on that list.

It's good you have enough time to prepare before they are going to be vaccinated...
Me, i had only 2 hours. I was informed at 6am on Tuesday that it's my schedule to be vaccinated.. i did not expect that I will be on the list because the health worker asked me if I have maintenance meds last Monday and I said I have none. She said the available vaccines are for A1 to A3 only.. So I did not insist anymore. I told her I will just wait when it will be available again. But on Tuesday morning, she said she was able to put me on the list because there are available slots left.

It's sad that they require birth certificate from the PSA. They're making it had for people who want to cooperate in getting rid of covid by coming forward for vaccination.

How odd we are given a birth certificate here that does not expire. We have had vaccinations here for covid for that age group for about 3 months. Soon they will be doing ages 5-11. My stepson and son chose not to get the vaccine. I just had to have my stepson tested yesterday to see if he has corona as he’s been coughing and has a runny nose. I don’t have the results yet.

Honestly, I forgot to worry about the children. Sigh! I feel for the parents who have to weigh in on decisions about the vaccination of children. Kudos to you!
That expiration is actually one form of subtly squeezing the money from us. A birth certificate remains the same. Grrrr.

I had to order new birth certificates for both Pretty and I because my first wife wouldn't give them back to us. It cost me $10 for each one but ours never expire. (Hearing about a birth certificate expiring is weird. You're always going to have the same birth information on it. so what does it matter how old the certificate is?)

@rakski Maybe someone hopes they'll catch people lying about their age.

True, it is kind of irritating that birth certificates have an expiration date. I think that is the only way they can earn more from us. It is just weird since the information you will get from Birth Certificates does not change over time and the information that you will get will be the same in case you request again today.

@rakski I am just wondering what the logic behind it has an expiry. The only thing that comes into my mind is when you want to legally change something on your Birth Certificate. But that happens rarely on many of us who have our BC it practically remains the same.
