Hoarding or a Shortage?

The toilet paper shelves at Dollar General were nearly empty yesterday evening so I went ahead and got a package of a dozen rolls. That package will last me 2 months or a little longer.
I'm wondering if people are starting to hoard toilet paper again or if there is a shortage of trees from which it is made.

Oh! Once again this hoarding has begun.
Is there any anticipation of another pandemic wave there? Here toilet tissues are not used and so not much panick hoarding of the same.

Actually, the numbers of covid related stuff are going down so it is getting better. I just hope that more people in my area will get vaccinations. Hopefully, people will be careful during the Autumn and Winter seasons and the upcoming holidays of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

@bluerubymoon53 Yes, one need to be careful and not let the safety guards down during celebrations and festival. What is the reason for the hoarding and shortage then??

@arunima25 I really wouldn't know the real reason for hoarding and/or shortage.

That's true. I've seen that, too. So, I bet there will be a shortage of notebooks for schools now, too.

That could be a possibility. There have been shortages of materials to produce many different items.
