The covid19 pandemic highly contributed to this.
Only the super rich can help poor people around the world.
Including the government of course.

I hear you ; sadly the situatuion with poverty isn't new at all !
Poverty is another pandemic , a non spoken pandemic

Poverty is very hard to discuss and to explain. The figures you showed / said was just only a brief estimation I guess, it will be a lot more if the whole world and country was counted.
A lot of our politicians are actually looking for ways to lessen poverty , jobs, services I think would help in some.

12% is out of all the people in the world; obviously in some poor countries the numbers are a lot higher !
As for politicians- sadly I've lost faith in them cause they make empty promises;I do hope to see some change one day.
Basically the change depends on us
