Pretty and I were cooking in the middle of the night again. We set up all the ingredients for Korean Beef into the crockpot and started it cooking. Then I butterflied chicken breasts while she chopped up bell peppers and onions to stuff in them. I couldn't get to sleep after that so I came onto myLot and have been visiting with people for several hours. Around 5 am or so I went in and had some of the stuffed chicken breast for breakfast. A few minutes ago Pretty came to my room and told me the Korean Beef was done, so I got a bowl of that. Is anyone hungry this morning? Korean Beef. Photo is mine.

We typically don’t eat past 7 or 8 pm . I don’t think I could sleep with food in my tummy.

@DaddyEvil the 7-8 would be a snack. Usually popcorn.

I didn't eat until around 5 or so am. I usually don't eat after 6 pm but, I might get up and make something for the next day late at night/early in the morning.

When the cow mooed, I could hear the accent. You keep getting close but never show up on my porch.

It's beef chunks, orange bell peppers, tomatoes and white onions with spices... (Don't ask me what spices, since I have no idea. I'm not even sure that's all the veggies she put into it. I wasn't paying attention when she was chopping them up.) It is really good, though.

If she's willing to cook, I'll eat it, as long as it's something I will/can eat.

Was it North or South Korean Beef?

I can't tell from the accent... And, since it's food, I'd hazard a guess it must be South Korean.

@DaddyEvil we dont know much about north Korea, its a very closed country. Most of things that we know now are from south Korea.

Korean Beef is the name for it here. Pretty and I make foods from other cultures all the time. (Usually the foods we make are Indian because we like their food a lot. We learn how to make them by watching YouTube.) The stuffed chicken we made is like this... Stuffed chicken. Photo is mine.

@May2k8 We don't have rice at my house. One of my brothers told me mom made rice from maggots when I was little. I still remember that so can't eat it.

It's really good. Pretty likes making it in the crockpot so she doesn't have to do anything except chop veggies, add spices and leave it alone.

@just4him You're always invited... as soon as the pandemic ends. If I thought I could get it to you before it spoiled, I'd try sending you some. (I used to freeze stuff solid and mailed it to Pretty when she was in college. She said most of it arrived with ice still floating in it. )

At two in the morning I'd be in dreamland. I wouldn't be cooking. Or I could go down for a snack. Sometimes I do that. I wake up in the middle of the night to go pee and since I am already awake I go to the kitchen for a snack.

When it's hot during the summer we try to do our cooking at night so the air conditioner doesn't have to work as hard and our bill doesn't go up too much. We both get up during the night and wander into the kitchen for a bite to eat.

@lovebuglena I always cook too much so we have leftovers in the fridge. I do it on purpose so I can package part of it up in individual Ziploc freezer bags and freeze it so we can eat without having to cook every day. We also keep blocks of cheese and fruit available in the kitchen, too. *shrug*

Korean beef - bulgogi? I used to eat that in my younger times, when I still eat red meat. But yes, I will eat anytime I woke up LOL. Who care if its midnite, 2am, or 5am. I will eat

No, the meat isn't sliced thin and barbecued first. It is steak cut into cubes and allowed to cook slowly in the vegetable juices with spices. (I didn't watch to see what spices the used, though.) If I'm hungry when I wake up, I'll go looking for something to eat.

Thank you. It really was good. During the summer, especially, we do our cooking and baking in the middle of the night so we don't stress our air conditioner and the house can cool down without using too much electricity. We usually don't eat what we cook until the next day.

We don't grill anything. I got tired of burning myself every time we barbecued, so I gave away our grill.
