Fishing poles or work ethic ? Whats the difference?

I am a fisherman ! I do not actually like to fish, nor do I do it as a sport. No fish will be harmed in the writing of this! When I was young, I was quite rambunctious. Every thing I wanted it seemed was to expensive or not available to kids my age. So I asked for the money from my guardian. Which was most always a "no" . Then I would tail spin and wind up doing things that I should not be doing! ( idle no good for me.). I noticed that people would give you money at times , if you would do things for them ( ex: rake their yard, mow , paint exc...) So I began with these things to get those things I wanted! It appeared to be a success. Until the other kids see what you have an want it. They want it for nothing though as I did in the beginning. ( They did not want to grab a mower at all. ) I told them all how I was able to do it . ( only a couple heard me I recon )! They was then getting what they wanted as well as I was. It was hard work sometimes . Rewarding as well. As when I was talking to some adults a couple years after I started doing this. I was told I was a fisherman. In terms that. I could have been giving those things and never learned how to get them . (like a fishing pole and not know how to use it and starve).. instead I got myself a pole and learned how to fish. Which filled my needs. Hence I'm a fisherman!. Much better to get taught how to fish then just get fish giving to you. Because as an adult that work ethic I built ( not knowing ) Has saved me so many times.

It's something we need in life, now more than ever.
