Just a Routine Day

United States

Happy Tuesday Everyone! November certainly has dropped the temperatures overnight and we were just above the freezing mark. It's still chilly here this morning and I don't think it's going to get very warm at all today. So, when I got dressed I put on a pullover sweater to keep warm. I'm sure my short sleeves are over for this year. Nothing much planned for today. After doing the usual house stuff I'm going to finally pick a new book to read. I haven't read a book in over a week or so and it's really weird not having a book going. I don't know what happened to me but I got out of the reading mode awhile ago. I really miss reading and need to get back into it. The last book I read was The Giver of the Stars by Jo Jo Moyes and it was really good. Now I think I'm in the mood for a mystery/thriller. Are you reading anything?

I usually read in bed before sleeping. I am so tired lately that I cannot even read one page before falling asleep.

@Marilynda1225 I usually read for at least 30 minutes, I think it's the first cold days that make me tired.

Cleaning and doing stuff around the house can make you feel warm. I can't clean in clothes that are too warm. Once i finish though I need to put on warmer stuff

Like you, I haven't read in quite some time. I bought some patterns off of Amazon so I could go back to cross stitching and crocheting.

Cross stitching and crocheting is a great way to relax. I miss reading but still didn't pick a book today. I spent the afternoon catching up on tv and crocheting

I am too weak in reading. I always try to pickup big books and then end up putting them down within 2 days. I pick them up with all excitement but never end them.

Like you, I always loved to read, but got away from it. Now I've started back and discovered a new author I like: Lisa Jewell. A few bad words I don't like, but great suspense thrillers. Rachelle Dekker is good, too.

You're the second person in just a few days that mentioned Lisa Jewel. I'll have to look for her books. Even though I haven't read much I'm always looking for more books

We may have our first freeze tonight. I have that book, but will read it after I finish Lake House. It’s an oldie but goldie. Vendetta by Valerie was pretty good.

@Marilynda1225 It kept me on my toes. Frost warning in my area, but my flowers and veggies are in the garage and family room. Hope to get more pleasure from them.

Cooler here as well but it will be much colder Thursday onward with highs then only in the 40's. And flurries in the forecast on Friday. Hope you find an interesting book which will hold your interest.

Most of my short sleeved shirts are put away. The few I really like will be worn with a long sleeved button up shirt. I have read 2 books that I enjoyed. Both were written by Karen Robards. She writes great mystery/thriller books. I bought a Johanna Lindsey book from the Goodwill, but only read a few pages and decided to wait on reading it. Bought Pillar of the Earth, which I have read once and enjoyed, so I will read that again.

@Marilynda1225 the one I am reading takes place in Scotland and she uses Gaelic that sometimes gets a little difficult to pronounce.

I've heard of Karen Robards but never read anything by her. I do like mystery/thrillers. As for Johanna Lindsey I have read her books and they're generally pretty good. I can't think of one offhand though,

I pushed my tank tops to the back of the closet and pulled the short sleeved and long sleeved shirts to the front. I also put away my jean shorts and sandals for the winter and pulled out long jeans and tennis shoes. Did I ever offer you the free ebook site I use? b-ok.cc You can download five free ebooks within 24 hours or, if you give them your email address, you can download ten free ebooks in 24 hours. I've been using the site for almost two years and have downloaded and read around 400 ebooks from it.

@Marilynda1225 My site includes Zlibrary. Yes, it's really nice since I read so much and this house doesn't have room for me to store the books I already own, let alone store more as I finish reading them. (I used to donate books I've read but didn't like well enough to want to keep them to the public library in our city but they stopped accepting book donations three years ago. I read roughly a book a day.)

I never heard of your free ebook site but I have been using Zlibrary which sounds similar. It's great to be able to download books isn't it

Not read anything in a long time. I mostly end up reading articles and papers around education that helps me in professional life. I think it is same everywhere. Winter has arrived earlier this year.

You sound so busy all the time I'm not surprised you don't have time to read. But, reading articles to help your professional life certainly is beneficial.

@Marilynda1225 I find them interesting and helpful. Also, I need to read articles and attend workshops and webinars to stay updated with all that happening in the field. It's a professional obligation.
