Zoe Sternberg who is a student at Saint Catherine University in Minnesota is being praised for being at the right place at the right time at the Super Rink in Blaine on Sunday when a female high school ice hockey player passed out during a championship game and stopped breathing.
Zoe who was an EMT assigned to work at the game, came to assist the ice hockey player who was not breathing by using her training in first aid courses by giving the female ice hockey player CPR for a period of three minutes until the hockey player opened her eyes and recovered to the amazement of the crowd attending the game but also Bill Manuel who is the coach of the ice hockey player who passed out during the game.
The name of the female ice hockey player was not released to the public is a senior in high school. She was taken to Mercy Hospital in Coons Rapids and kept overnight to have the doctors gave her tests for her heart.
The good news is that the ice hockey player is expected to make a full recovery. I am sure that she is thankful that Zoe was her guardian angel at the ice hockey game.
