What a good day it had been. My cousin and her mate came by to take me N my mate out to dinner.
Their not from around here ( not that it should matter) So I pick out a place I thought I was familiar with. As now I regret . They are a mixed couple, they dress comfortably though nice. Ad do my wife and I! We get to the restraunt sit down to order. We all have steaks which comes with all you want buffet an salad bar.
As we wait we make a trip to the buffet tables and make us a salad. That is when I first noticed our waitress staring at them kinda awkwardly. I restrain from comment. We continue about our meal. Finally the main course comes and it is average upon look and average on the way we had ordered it. As we had to sit in a booth that was built for kindergartens. I would take our empty plates an set them on table across from us that was empty. As most the place was empty.
The waitress comes and says to me I will get your plates from your table when your done. An reaches over 3 plates to pour a cup of tea ( from a pitcher to heavy for her ) as her arm shook to pour it I lean away just in case she dropped it.
Then as we continue to finish up our meal. Now there is a gathering of staff within our tiny little area cleaning off the same table that nobody has sat at since we been here. You would like to think that they wasn't there for any reason except to be ready to refill our drinks. Except when we asked for some take out trays and my cousin asked for a tray for the salad bar to go. That's when our team of waitresses brought 3 little single carriers. The kind a hamburger would fit in.
Well my cousins mate asked for a bigger one and explained that she didn't want to cram the fries in on top of the bread and the steak also. And said she wanted a to go plate for the salad also.
This is when another waitress walks up and said " No" because she was putting salad bar items in the tray. Without ever asking or waiting for a response she just implied they were trying to steal something. That caused a bit of feelings to come out. We gathered our things together and paid the 97.85$ ticket for our meals and left. We did not leave a tip.
These people looked down on us the whole time we were there. They eyed us and acted as if we weren't good enough for their establishment. Yet they took that money not realizing that they just lost a sell for the salad bar, 4 customers for life and the 20$ tip I had put back in my pocket as it started and ended this way.
People need to know money walks in all sorts of pockets. That being white ,black , dockers or Levi's . This is America's biggest failure of all time. I had not ever felt that way before.

First of all, I am sorry you experienced that kind of hostility.
And ignorance, to say the least.
How rude.
They are there to work, not judge.
What a shame it turned out like that, otherwise would have been a nice meal.
You are right, it is what is wrong.

The salad bar is all you can eat while you're in the restaurant. You'd have to pay for another meal if you want to take anything with you from the salad bar.
