Adopting Teenagers

I watched this ad for a foundation and they want to encourage people to adopt teenagers. I am glad they finally started encouraging this. Most of the time when the kids get older and reach their teen years, they get abandoned in the foster care system or at orphan homes. I listened to these kids who did not get adopted until they were like 17, 18, 19 years old. They were so excited to be in a permanent family. Most people I know who have adopted children, took them home when the kids were very young. I only know of one person who adopted a teenager. He was a single man who gave up hope of ever having a spouse. But he said he wanted a son. He also said that there was no way he was going to change diapers. So my friend who had connections with an orphanage, worked with him to help him adopt a son. I was so happy for him and for the boy who got adopted. Do you know about any teenagers who finally got adopted?

It also happened to my friend when she was 16 years old, she was very excited when she was about to be adopted as well as worried whether her adoptive parents would be good to her. Because he often watches films about evil adoptive parents like the story in the movie Cinderella. Fortunately his adoptive parents are good parents and my friend is very happy

I am sorry for those no more very young kids, they have less chances to be adopted.

That is something I have never thought about. I guess I never considered that teenagers need families too. I don't think I have ever met anyone who was adopted

i suspect that is a really hard message - teenagers have more baggage with them. but it is a very important message.

Yes, I do... My brother and his wife adopted a teenager. Evan is just like their biological son.

No, there is no such situation around me. an adult at the age of 18. Generally, there is no adoption. Some kind-hearted people will subsidize teenagers and give them living expenses and tuition fees, but the subsidy and adoption are different. They are adopted when they are babies or children
