You won't automatically get a plastic straw in NJ anymore

Today a new regulation went into effect in New Jersey and restaurants will not automatically provide patrons with plastic straws. They will have to actually request them in order to be given one. Starting in May plastic take-out bags and styrofoam containers and cups will be banned as well.
I don't want to drink my iced tea or mojito without a straw. I HATE paper straws. I have several metal straws so I might wind up just carrying one in my purse. I'm supportive of trying to help to protect the environment but I'm not giving up a straw.

I dont like the metal straws. But I do have some reusable plastic straws that I can take with me if that happens here.

We keep hearing that straws will be more difficult to find here in Missouri in the coming future so Pretty bought a six-pack of the metal ones.
