A Matter of Energy-Conservation (small-scale, maybe)

I play KLONDIKE: THE LOST EXPEDITION. In it, you spend 'imaginary energy' searching for treasure. After you spend all your energy, your energy rebuilds (one 'unit' every three minutes).
Talking about "real energy," would it save more energy if you leave the KLONDIKE-window open (while you do something else and then jump right back into the game when you're ready), or would it save more energy if you shut the KLONDIKE-window (when you go do something else and then have to wait for the game to reload when you're ready to play).

Never heard of this game but it sure looks like fun.
I like hidden object games but never get time to play them.

It's more of a city-builder or a farm-game, rebuilding the old frontier settlements of the old Klondike (gold-prospecting, etc.)
