Eating fresh fish is very healthy. You see, the fish we consume are free of preservatives or chemicals that are not good for the body. I often see in traditional markets, the fish that are sold are not healthy anymore. The condition of the fish is not fit for consumption, contains formalin and the meat is no longer fresh. Let alone humans, flies sometimes don't want to eat the fish because it contains formaldehyde or a preservative that is harmful to the human body. Because of that, lately I often buy fresh fish that have just been caught by fishermen. These fish are still alive.

The fish in your picture is called " pampano" in our country, it costs around 10 dollars /kg. Here and it's very meaty and delicious. You are right you can get it fresher for less if you live near a fishing village by the sea.

@Andini understandable especially if you live far from the sea since India is a vast sub-continent.

In our place, the fish is called Rambue, and sometimes Baby GT. These are the fish that are most in demand by buyers. Besides being fresh, the price is also cheap.

We can get this fresh fish any time. The fishermen catch fish three times a day: morning, afternoon and evening. Freshly caught fish are immediately sold.

I often buy fresh fish now. I don't really like fish that like to be given preservatives and ice.

@almubarak sure many sources of Vitamin A from fish but Fish is filled with omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins such as D and B2 (riboflavin). Fish is rich in calcium and phosphorus and a great source of minerals, such as iron, zinc, iodine, magnesium, and potassium.

Your fish is very fresh. Looks like it just came down from the sea. I would love to fry it, and eat it.

When I lived in Miami, Florida, eating fresh fish was not a problem because my late husband loved to go fishing. But now I'm in land-locked Austin, Texas and fresh fish is kind of expensive.

You should go back to fishing like your late husband. This will help you get fresh fish, and don't have to buy because they are expensive. Fishing will also be very fun.

Fish is good in Omega 3.If you can't get it fresh your can eat sardines or mackerel in the tin. Do you eat sardines ,mackerel or red herring?

Just fish... everything is unnaturally preserved nowadays. Almost everything from fruits to even flowers everything is chemically preserved to last longer or inflate. Why are all these health issues around the world nowadays. And people are least bothered doing all this.

I agree with you. Almost foodstuffs are preserved to make them last longer. And, this is problematic in terms of health. Sometimes we eat foods that are preserved using clothing preservatives or corpse preservatives. Very unhealthy.
