Loose screws and a helpful cat

Things had feeling a bit unsteady for a bit, but I'd only spotted the culprit(s) right before we left for a few days' trip. I figured that we'd take care of the issue when we got in, but we were so wiped out by the travel that it didn't get done Sunday evening.
Then, Monday passed with me focused on other things. Then, Tuesday. All the while, the issue lurked in the background.
The husband got out of bed this morning, and it felt like half of it was about to collapse. So, as anyone would do, he sat back down on the edge. This, of course, prompted me to politely explain to him that he needed to relocate so that we could fix the issue.
So, at 4 a.m., we were hoisting a mattress and essentially reassembling part of our bed's framework. Meanwhile, Mr. Helpful Cat was helping by zigzagging his way under the mattress, through the slats, under the bed, and even into the tool box. He attempted to pilfer a little bag of tiny nails that I keep in the toolbox and looked a tad miffed when I promptly removed it from his possession.
We now have a bed that is firmly under us again. The saga of the two slightly loose screws (and the near chaos that they caused) has been firmly put to bed.

And I would have been the one who would have ended up on the floor. The husband had sat up on the edge and was completely oblivious to the fact that the entire thing tilted as he did so! I do worry about that man sometimes...

@wilsongoddard It's amazing what men don't 'see' from time to time.

Oh! For some reason that wasn't the type of "loose screws" I thought you were talking about...
I'm glad you got your bed fixed.

@wilsongoddard Imagine that... A man with a few screws loose... I've never heard of such a thing.
