A helping hand

As humans, it is an obligation we owe to help ourselfs. But unfortunately, the society we live in now says otherwise. A helping hand is a joyful heart, but nowadays, a helping hand is usually cheated, scammed and betrayed and with that, it has sent a negative feed back to those who have it in them to make lives better for others. What's your thought? Any experiences?

It applies in physics. But it does not always apply in human relationships. There are givers and there are takers.

Indeed! I guess that's why they say "don't judge a book by its cover"! The photo has a heart for you.

Yes. Many. I refuse to become selfish. But I am more circumspect in the extent to which I help others for nothing.

@Joshael Agreed. Giving is good if you expect nothing in return.

A good way to live. Giving and expecting nothing in return tend to keep you less disappointed.

I know there is a lot of scamming, etc, out there but luckily I have rarely been involved in an such incidents. I guess I've been very lucky.

I respect those who loves to help others but not glorifying themselves for it. There's a certain charm to that, I suppose.

Indeed there is! Those are the types who expect nothing in return.

It is okay to help. But we have to choose who we help. Some people don't deserve such. Because some of them just use the money for their vices.

Quite true! I have met people who use others as a means like borrowing a friends baby to beg thereby attracting pity.
