Late Lunch & Dinner Combo

Was gone most of the day. Had a lot to get done. A successful day. And lots of sunshine as well, after a very cold morning.
Stopped by Captain D's to eat a late lunch and early dinner. This chain has been around awhile. I enjoy it since there is no fresh seafood anywhere close.
I got the fried fish, fried shrimp, cornbread, green beans and cole slaw. Enjoyed it very much. Had enough to make two meals in one.

Years ago, we used to eat at Captain D's... I loved their chicken strips and hush puppies... And then I started having allergic reactions to the chicken strips. We found out it wasn't the chicken I had a problem with but anything cooked in the same oil that fish was cooked in... Allergies are so much fun...
When you eat dinner this evening, take a nibble and think of me, please.

I have heard of Captain D's but I do not remember eating a meal there yet. I am enjoying my Monday at work.

@CarolDM The closest Captain D's is located in Westlake which is close to Lake Charles across the bridge that crosses the Calcasieu River.

Looks tasty Carol. I had fish today too, just a couple battered cod fried up.
Glad you got done whatever it was that you had to do.
I am staring to wind down now for the day..wont be on much longer, I always say that but always check in here later on.

It does look tasty. My husband's going fishing tomorrow with my two cousins who lost their mom and dad (my aunt and uncle). Hopefully, he'll bring home some fish for the freezer.

@CarolDM They had a great time. Each caught the four fish limit of speckled trout. The weather was beautiful and they all had a lot of fun.

Sounds good. We were going to visit a Captain D's when we went south; but as you know, that trip was cut short.

Captain D's is pretty good. There is one by one of the Walmarts in this area. I go there once in a blue moon. I wish there was one closer. I would go more often.

I used to really love Captain D's. Last time I bought from there it wasn't that good. I don't know if I ordered something different or just had an off day. I suppose next time it will be good again. I used to love their chicken and hush puppies. I like their fried fish as well. I don't know that I've had their shrimp to be honest with you. I don't like fish unless it's fried. That was great that you could make two meals in one.
