Anyone like Bowling?

Hi there everyone, hope you are all doing well! I went bowling today, with the group I go with (usually I go once a week, not every week though). I think I only got one strike, but had a good time, regardless. Anyone else like to bowl? Or any similar hobbies?

I used to go bowling a lot growing up as a kid. I'd go to a nearby bowling alley after school to bowl a few games. Even got my own bowling bowl for Christmas. Such a fun sport I never got really good at although I did bowl a 222 one time. My average was about 135-140. Not terrible. I have not gone bowling in a long time, but if I did I know it would be as much fun as when I was a kid!

@dilleo 5-pin lanes interesting? I've never heard of that DJ. That's how long since I've been bowling, lol.

@dgobucks226 Yeah, I like it a lot better than the usual (10-pin?) and the bowling balls are smaller, and don't have holes in them. Maybe it's just what I'm used to, as well though!

Thanks for sharing your story, very neat! Wow, a 222 score eh? Nice going About 3 or 4 years ago, I ended up getting 4 strikes in a row, and I think my score was something like 218? Maybe. The bowling alley I go to, has 5-pin lanes, with the smaller bowling balls. I think I prefer it that way though.

Very much agreed! Fair enough, it can be expensive, or at least here it is.. But it is reasonable for me and the other members of the group I go with, thankfully

When I was a teen, sure. It was more like a social gathering tho, haven't gone bowling in ages.

Cool cool. Yeah, I think a lot of people that have commented are saying they haven't gone for a while, perfectly fair. It is one of the few activities/sports I partake in these days.. This, along with baseball.

@MidnightMunchies Awesome! I mostly play outfield, a bit of 3rd base. And, fair enough! Yeah it can be a challenge to get enough friends together to make a team, etc

The few times I've been bowling I've really enjoyed it. I'm always surprised how noisy it is when you go into the building.

That's good to hear! Yeah, I know what you mean. When I go with my group of people, usually it isn't too bad. However, when these places are at full capacity, with kids, and usually music going on, etc.. It can be quite loud for sure
