I have no crafty skills!

I saw the picture of the unfinished Autumn wreath on social media. It made me laugh! It reminds me of myself...except mine would say "I'm busy and I'm not crafty!" I admire people who can create beautiful decor for their homes, etc. The homemade things in my home were gifts. Most people have some kind of creative talent. Mine is writing. My daughter is a great cook. My son writes songs and plays music. Don't ask me to draw anything either. I can draw a decent stick man, and that's about it! Do you make crafts? If not, how do you express yourself artistically?

@BloggerDi Do you remember when knitted ruffled scarves were popular? My daughter and granddaughter wanted one for Christmas so I taught myself how to knit (YouTube and books) and made them. I made a few more that year, but lost interest and gave all the supplies away.

Thanks @JudyEv. My mom crocheted many lovely things! I started learning it from her when I was a girl, but quickly lost interest and patience. It's a wonderful talent!

@1creekgirl Yes I do remember. Wow, good for you that you gave it a shot! I love that YouTube has so many educational videos on almost anything! My mom taught me how to crochet when I was a teenager. I never actually finished anything.

Oh that is sad. I realize though that we have times in life that other things must take priority.

I can manage to do some crafting but since I'm not really good it will most probably take me weeks/months to complete something

Hi @Nawsheen. I also tend to be a starter of projects that I never finish or take me way too long! Thanks for your comment.

I do not do crafts. I do write good news stories as well as comical fan fictions on Archive Of Our Own.

actually everyone has artistic value in him. It depends on whether you are looking for it or not. I liked music, then I learned to play the guitar. I liked to see uncle's paintings, then I learned to paint.

I agree @Faster16, that every person has some artistic talent within! It's great that you were inspired by the skills of others and then tried it yourself.

No, I would describe myself as a wannabe crafter. Honestly, there are some I could probably make, but lack the ambition. I do some creative kitchen products sometimes.

That wreath is hilarious! I'm just a little crafty. I sing and love to cook, but not as good as some of our myLotters.
