As I begin this little trail of a lifetime at crisp age of 22. Long after the baptism in the wicked waters that ever swirled the grounds in my life.
I must first give a brief description of my first 6 years of becoming. At the age where most are starting to enjoy driving and working their first job that required them to be out past midnight on school nights from time to time. Finding their true love while parking on some lamely named location to make out as so many people have in the past. With their favorite songs playing.
That was not the case to be in my world. I was unfortunately fortunate enough to be fully turned to the world without a home or guardian, since mine had passed and tho a large family none were willing to have my brother and I into their lives. They were full of themselves . ( that be another episode ).
I was to my belief doing quite well for such a young man. I had found myself employed with a nice car, had a few places to live always with roommates of course. Well on my way to nowhere important in a hurry. So let's skip on forward from 16-22 for now.
This is when the funniest thing then and maybe still happens to me. I know the police get a bad reputation an for the most part it is most often true. Anyways.
I had a fiancee and she was pregnant. I had recently lost my job and my car was disabled due to lack of maintenance. Who knew to service them and change the oil ? NOT THIS GUY.... and to boot a lady had ran into me and I didn't have insurance. So my license was not in good standings.
Well now I am staying with my fiancee family in a town I wasn't comfortable in , around people I did not know.
I was about to explode with a baby on the way and this tidal wave of downs going on.
When my fiancee an I borrowed her sister's car to go find one of my uncles that recently moved into town. I needed a break .. when low an below we top a small hill and the night skies light up with red n blue strobe lights..
My heart racing , starting to sweat at the thought I was going to jail and no means to get out. Feeling like the waves had finally swallowed me.
As the police officer approached with his flash light shining inside the car . It flashed slowly down my fiancée stomach which was about 8 months pregnant.
He approached an seen the panic in my face an her holding her stomach. He totally misread my expression an without a doubt he said " is she in labor " I glance at her an at the same time we both said "YES". He began to panic and looked like he was about to be having a child of his own. He rambles off all the options he knew and started trying to decide what was best way to proceed. I loudly said "Officer" Hey "Officer" he finally looks down to me. An said I can't escort you but maybe the highway pat! I cut him off and said " if we could just go now we would make it without any escorts. He says " GO , GO HAVE THAT BABY GOOD LUCK CONGRAD "... Is what I heard as we sped off faster than what we had been stopped for to begin with. We were going the wrong direction for any hospital. An we were going .. As we get down the road we both sigh of relief and she grinned .. that is when we busted out laughing. Then realized we had to turn around go back passed him to get to my uncles house. An that we did. The look on his face as we did so was the look on my face hours later . When my now wife went into labor and we had our 1st son..
That was the day we surfed those wicked waves. I knew we was going to be ok...

That is a nice story and thankfully all ended well. I am sure you will always remember it and revisiting it will make you laugh with your partner.

@Rickbmad Sure it is and as I read this fantastic bit of writing, I thought of what a good movie some of your life would make Ricky.
Well God bless you all anyhow, I enjoyed it.
Looking forward to reading more perhaps if you care to share.
You are a great writer by the way in case no one told you.

Having a child to raise is the greatest thing that there is.

As great a thing it is. It is also one of the scariest things I have ever done. Seems that the pressure to be more for myself was greater after children came
