It Could Have Been a Coffee Disaster This Morning

Can you picture me without my morning coffee??? I really thought I was going to have to call my daughter and see if she would stop and bring me a cup of coffee on her way home. I couldn't get the coffee maker to work. It would start and then stop. Finally after trying it for about 3 times it finally brewed a pot of coffee. I don't know if there's a patron saint for appliances but I prayed to all the saints that my pot would work. Guess one of those saints wasn't busy and helped out. Guess a new coffee maker is on the list of "things to buy" and if it doesn't work tomorrow morning it's going to be a sad day here.

Oh I'm so glad that the maker started to brew, however it was done, divine intervention or not. I need a bullet, which I use often for making soups. We went to best buy a little while ago, and although we did not get exactly what we went for, we did get a new bullet for me and a new laptop for my hubby.

@Marilynda1225 I bought the bullet because the blades on mine grew very dull as its probably 15 years old and has been well used. Here best buy has them on sale here, that is what I was waiting for. I still have to take it out of the box and wash everything before its ready to use.

Glad you trip to Best Buy was successful. Especially that you were able to find a laptop for your hubby. I love soup and should look into one of those bullets

I knew there was a good side to no longer liking the taste of coffee... I believe you just pointed out what that is. I'm glad your coffee maker decided to make you some this morning...

I wish I wasn't dependent on my morning coffee to make me human

Yipes, you need to get a new one, and keep that one as a back up.

I should always have a backup on hand. Hopefully it was just a fluke this morning

@Marilynda1225 Pretty sure I have a back up. I found it the last time the pot went out and I thought I had to buy a new one. I did actually buy the new one, but I found the old, leaky one that will work in a pinch.

It's good that your coffee maker managed to work. A lack of coffee can be a very bad thing. We do pour over, so that should last indefinitely--provided that the husband doesn't manage to do something that ends in my Chemex on the floor in pieces. He's a bit of a hazard in the kitchen, unfortunately.

@Marilynda1225 Oh, he tends to create a mess in the kitchen. I just worry what disaster he will manage next.

Hopefully yours lasts a long time and your husband doesn't create a mess in the kitchen

It’s always best to have backups in the coffee pot department, especially for you

@Marilynda1225 Even though one cup in the morning is all I drink, I would die without it.

I drink day old coffee once in a while there's always that option. Sometimes it's a bit stronger than it's like but saves me time for making a new out some days.

Even if it does work tomorrow, maybe should get a new one to have waiting for it to crash or to even just start using instead.. also Christmas is coming. Put one on your list lol

That would be a disaster. Maybe you should get a back up just in case.

mine does that on occasion, i ended up realizing I had to clean the pot system more often (like once a week, from once a year) and it has worked perfectly since!
