White Supremacists Rob Jewelry Store Near My House

I live in a relatively benign neighborhood. It is a bedroom community East of Berkeley CA. We sometimes have bicycles stolen, but overall, the crime rate here is low. Earlier this week, White Supramacists (or so I assume) robbed a jewelry store directly adjacent to the College where I teach. This scares me a bit. My drug dealer, Raj, said that there were about 20 cars coming from Oakland CA with their license plates removed. Nobody stopped them. A couple of them were arrested. We'll see what happens. Does violent crime occur where you live?

I'd swear one of those guys looked a little like you, if I didn't know you were home with Kitty when that happened.

I was not involved. I am not a fan of jewelry. But I may get my left ear pierced some day.

@TheHorse I have some piercings but my ears aren't pierced. I used to wear a gold necklace and am always wearing a watch but that's it. I'm sure Kitty will be willing to testify if asked, as to your whereabouts last night?

@DaddyEvil For some reason, I prefer silver to gold. But I am wearing no jewelry right now.

I have lived in this locality for the last 17 odd years. The only major crimes I can recall are ... our car's mirror was broken by a cow...and we are not allowed to sue cows in our country. And one cell phone was stolen. And my neighbor's dress was stolen too.

@vandana7 There were other crimes committed there but the same things that are reported as crimes here are legal there...

@TheHorse I am sure that there is something in the biggest cities, not so much.

@LadyDuck I wonder how the biggest Swiss cities compare to the biggest American cities.

I watched the video and it's not clear what race the criminals are. Why would you assume they're white supremacists?

I heard on the news today that violent crimes are down but lesser crimes are up. People from Oakland must have a lot of cars stolen.

No. We're out in a semi-rural/suburban area. There is violent crime in a city about 10 miles away.

@LindaOHio Glad you have enough police in your area. A lack of police is one of the problems in the Bay Area.

You know that is a good question, I do not go anywhere lately and when I do I go only around the places I know, My friends do tell me there are really bad areas in Daytona Beach but I do not know of or about them and I am glad I live in a quiet area, Actually I got curious and looked online and now I might never leave my house again because I did not know this With a crime rate of 53 per one thousand residents, Daytona Beach has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. One's chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 19.

It's amazing that they can get away with this sh*t. The cops' hands are tied...dare I say...cuffed. Can you understand why I'm waxing Conservative in my old age?

What stood out for me here was the label "white supramacists". Times change I guess. If it was Bonnie and Clyde they would be a member of a "gang" or Al Capone a "gangster". What are they today? Hoodies with a shopping cart or modern day bandits possibly. Sorry I didn't watch the video. Hopefully they will catch them. In any time a life of crime is no life at all.

Why are you assuming something that might not be true? I’m not trying to be rude, but so many people are way too quick to blame so-called white supremacy on everything that happens these days.
