Along with the “fly” songs, I got the idea from @JamesHxstatic ‘s suggestion to do songs centered around airplanes. We land this countdown today, too, just in time for the busiest travel day of the year. Here’s the top plane-themed tune.
#1: L.A. International Airport - Susan Raye
San Francisco International Airport
Where the big B-actors roar
(Tom Servo, Mystery Science Theater 3000)
See, this song was popular enough to make it as a MST3K joke!!
The biggest hit in the career of Susan Raye, who was the counterbalance to Buck Owens on Hee Haw. They had duet hits together, as well as her own hits.
In 1973 she married Buck’s drummer, Jerry Wiggins, and they both quit music. They moved to Oregon, where Raye became a psychologist.
Susan Raye has pretty much been forgotten in country music, but this hit stood the test of time.
Thanks for reading.

LA airport isn't even in my top 3 all time landing spots. (LAX is a bear to get into and out of). but the song is one I had never heard before.
interesting choice!
