So these days all you have to do to get a Congressional internship is shoot three people, killing two, and getting off? Apparently that's the case as Representatives Matt Gaetz, Paul Gosar and Madison Cawthorne have all come out and said they'd like to give acquitted murder defendant Kyle Rittenhouse, a high school drop-out, internships.
From the Daily Beast - “Kyle, if you want an internship reach out to me,” Rep. Madison Cawthorn wrote in the caption of an Instagram story on Friday. He followed fellow GOP representatives Matt Gaetz, who teased an internship for Rittenhouse on Wednesday, and Paul Gosar, who threatened to arm-wrestle Gaetz for the chance to hire the teen as an intern.
Also, Rittenhouse was a guest at Mar-A-Lago and was interviewed on Fox News by Tucker Carlson since his acquittal. Plus Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor-Greene introduced a bill on Tuesday to award Kyle Rittenhouse the Congressional Gold Medal for "protecting the community of Kenosha, Wisconsin and Congressman Matt Gaetz plans on introducing a "Stand Your Ground" bill in Rittenhouse's name.
Heroes sure aren't what they used to be!

@anniepa It means, my opinion means little, and while I can freely express it here, People are going to do what they want, even if it's not always the right thing. And, I've given up caring.

@kaylachan I totally get where you're coming from but I haven't given up caring. That's why I come here and vent I guess. I also do other things such as call and write my members of the House and Senate.

I think that the Medal and internship ideas are nuts.

I'm all for second chances, although I have to say the two men he killed aren't getting a second chance. The thing is, giving him a second chance is one thing but they're holding him up to be so special and talking of him making a great member of Congress one day.

@anniepa both the men he killed were violent criminals who had had numerous "second chances." Attacking a 17 year old boy who put out their dumpster fire (which was being pushed towards a gas station) was a poor way to use that second chance.
