Want is different from Need

Many of the things we want to have we don't necessarily need them. We want to have a fancy car but we don't need to have a car .We want to drink water. That is a need because water is necessary for life. We want food .This is a need. We need food to survive..Sometimes when we say we want things we should consider do we really need this can we live without it. Can you think of other things that people say they want badly but they don't need to have

As I have observed this time around most of the things that we want can now be the things that we need because of the advancement of technology .I mean before we need gadgets like cellphones, computers, cameras.. but now , those things makes our lives easy. Cellphones, computers cameras can now be beneficial in our lives , they can be used in school, work, essential for emergency purposes and information gathering. I think their advantages and disadvantages in our lives depends on how we use them. 9

You have a point.However when you are going through a financial crisis that is when you start to evaluate how you spend your money and you budget. So of course some of the things we want might let things go faster but sometimes we can live without them

I need a few things at this time of my life. But I still think that some of my needs come from values. I need to have injustice diappear. I need to have wars as a thing of the past. I could go on forever. We all need love.

Most of the people in my area DO need to have a car, in order to get where they want to be and then have energy to do what they need to do when they get there (it's a large city)

@askme123 Maybe, but a) it's still sweaty work (not something one normally does in office-clothes) & b) it's still dangerous with all the automobiles zooming by.

I tend to get obsessions with things I want. Cars is one of them and then it was campervans. I had one with dogs too and had too many. I tend to suffer with these weird obsessions from time to time.

There are many things. I live very simply and there are people who want big homes, boats, expensive clothes, jewelry and I could go on and on. You don't need these things..but they want them.
