Forest Hills Global Elementary School kindergarten teacher Tricia Toews has gained an award from her employer recently after she used the Heimlich maneuver on one of her students named Za' vion Coley during their lunch break on Thursday. Tricia was having her lunch along with her students in her classroom when she noticed that Za' vion began to choke on his Dorito that his mom prepared for him that morning before he went to school that morning. After the use of the Heimlich maneuver was used to save Za' vion, the kindergartner student gave his teacher a hug to appreciate Tricia who saved his life. The best part of this story is that the school district in Wilmington North Carolina gave Tricia the Heroes Award earlier this month as their way of thanking her for being at the right place at the right time when the incident happened.

Tricia did indeed save the child from choking. I agree with you that she earned her hero award since she believes that God assigned her to save that student from choking on the Dorito.

I agree with you since a student appreciates what the teacher did for him by saving his life from choking.

This one of your inspiring stories. It's God's providence that Tricia was there at the right time indeed.

I think it's a good thing to give awards to children who do good, it can be an early education for children to become good people and make children excited to be good.

You are right since teachers do not get the credit they deserve for educating children.
