Thumbs Down on Cajun Fried Turkey!

In my refrigerator, in a covered plate, are the remains of my Thanksgiving dinner. I can’t remember that ever happening before—I don’t think I’ve ever left so much on my Thanksgiving dinner plate that I needed to save the residue in the refrigerator.
But it happened this time. Why?
Cajun fried turkey is why!
This year my wife and I thought we’d try something new, and Cajun fried turkey from a restaurant was the choice. It didn’t go well. I just didn’t like it, and neither did she.
The flavor, to me, was a bit overpowering—some kind of spiciness I didn’t care for, and too salty as well. I’m normally not much of a dressing eater, but it was only by combining the turkey with the somewhat sweet dressing that I could eat the turkey at all.
Oh well, I’ll probably try to finish that plate today. And the rest of the turkey won’t go to waste—my wife is already thinking about using it in dishes like shepherd's pie and turkey chili.
And now we know. No more fried turkey experiments. Next year it’s back to the tried and true tradition of roast turkey.
That fried stuff is for the birds.

You can "fix" the turkey with sauces. But I agree; turkeys are made for ovens.

So sorry that kind of ruined your turkey, but like you said, you never know if you don't try it.
