It took me 3 trips.

In my village, there's souk ( where you can buy fresh fruits and veggies and other necessities) only the weekend. There are some small grocery shops but the souk is way better. And the introvert that I am doesn't like to go out as much, 3 to 4 maximum per week, so I make sure to get everything I need Saturday, got work Monday and Tuesday and that's it. To get everything I need it took me 3 trips, the first to get fruits and veggies, the second to go the super market, and the third to get water. I wish I could do it in one trip but it's so heavy and I don't have a car. I hope I didn't forget anything. How and when do you grocery shop ?

Having to do all your shopping without a car and on foot must be really difficult, especially when you have to carry water--that's heavy!

Ot is quite tiring, but it's okey since it's only once a week thing.

We go once a month to the local Walmart SuperCenter and hope we don't forget anything... I put off going as long as I can. (We have enough groceries to last a few months in dry and canned goods, but my daughter will run out of things she prefers to eat about two weeks into the month, so will start asking me to take her then. *sigh*)

@Babino She doesn't care how many trips to the store we make. I urged her to buy more but she says if she has it she'll eat it... *sigh* I don't see what the difference is. She's going to keep asking me to take her if she doesn't have it, so buy enough to last the month.

Consider the three trips to the souk your weekly exercise. It's good for the body. Perhaps you can purchase a trolley where you can put all the supplies, especially the water, so you do not have to carry all the weight. Just push the trolley home.

That's a lot of shopping trips! Hope your close by especially with the walking I try to go grocery shopping only once a week. I like getting it accomplished. One thing to cross off my list. Sometimes I'll combine doing another task with shopping in the same trip. Better to save on gas, a problem you don't have to worry about

Now you're all stocked up, good. I've got a neighborhood grocery store, Marukai, but they don't have everything. I hop the bus for the rest. Like you it's limited to buy, so I go to stores once a week, several of them.

My DIL usually do the groceries and the marketing. She does it once a day in the morning because she wants all her ingredients in cooking as fresh a possible. For groceries, she does it once a week.

That's cool, especially if it's possible to get fresh ingredients everyday, impeccable.

Reading your article makes me appreciate better my situation here in my country. But I just take it for granted. Since I live in the tropics, fruits, vegetibles and water are abundant. Sometimes I forgot to be grateful.
